Skipton hires new distribution and financial services director

Skipton Building Society has appointed Andrew Bottomley as distribution and financial services director.

Bottomley joins from Lloyds Bank, where he was most recently mortgage and bancassurance director.

He will be responsible for Skipton’s branch network, customer contact centre and distribution teams and will also oversee Skipton Financial Services.

Bottomley says: “Skipton is a very well regarded and managed business in the mutual and wider financial services sector. It’s shown real tenacity to remain financially strong despite some of the worst economic conditions our country has faced. And has done so while keeping its members central to everything it does. I’m very much looking forward to joining Skipton next year and playing my part in its continued success.”

Group chief executive David Cutter says: “I look forward to welcoming Andrew on board. He brings with him a wealth of financial services experience and I am sure he will make a solid contribution to Skipton as we continue to meet our customers’ needs and grow our business.”

He will join on 1 January and his appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
