Skipton Building Society offers savings, mortgages, retirement planning, insurance and legacy planning services. It has a 162 year history, during which it has maintained its mutual roots, focusing on members’ interests.
The society has an overall membership of 794,739, of which 31,276 were added in the financial year ended in 2014. In April 2014, the society recorded a growth in savings balances from £1.2bn to £11.4bn. Their mortgage book grew to £12.7bn and they made an overall profit of £181.6m before tax.
AT the moment, the society operates out of over a 100 branches, and consists of 15 direct subsidiaries across all its various operations.
