SimplyBiz launches data protection advice hub

SimplyBiz Group has launched an online hub to help advisers meet the requirements of incoming data protection regulation.

The General Data Protection Regulation comes into effect from 25 May.

It covers the way businesses need to handle the personal data of individuals living in the UK.

The GDPR hub guides intermediaries on how to comply with the regulation.

It includes training options to boost awareness, as well as internal policy documents and guidance on how to manage breaches.

SimplyBiz Group marketing director Richard Ardron says there has been some confusion around the regulation, including around whether its implementation will be influenced by the Brexit process.

As a result, he says the firm wants to provide advisers with “clear, reliable and comprehensive support”.

He adds: “The launch of our hub makes up just part of the support the group is delivering to advisers in this area.

“Compliance and policy sessions at our upcoming events will cover GDPR in depth, we’ve issued a number of communications on the subject and, as always, our compliance helpdesk are primed and ready to help advisers with any specific queries they may have.”
