Sesame Bankhall hires Experian’s Richard Howells as MD

Former Experian director of insurance Richard Howells has been appointed as managing director of Sesame Bankhall’s protection, mortgage and general insurance arm.

Howells will assume the position with Sesame Network at the beginning of April.

Prior to Experian, Howells spent seven years with Zurich in sales and is also the former chief executive of Berkeley Independent Advisers.

Howells also spent four years with Bankhall between 2004 and 2008 as managing director of strategy and development.

Sesame Bankhall Group chair John Cowan says: “We have worked hard over the last year to assemble a senior team with the right mix of skills, experience and energy to take our business forward onto the next level.

“[We] will benefit from Richard’s strategic thinking as we develop and roll-out the next generation of adviser services.”

Howell will also join Sesame’s executive team.

Sesame Bankhall Group managing director Martin Schultheiss says: “We’re determined deliver even greater value, so having a senior leadership team with the right credentials is vital, particularly at a time of rapid economic and technological change [and] Richard’s industry background is ideal for us.”
