Santander begins issuing online mortgage offers

Santander has introduced online mortgage offers that can be printed off as soon as they have been issued.

The lender used to send them by post. The change means brokers can amend any incorrect customer details or information quicker, therefore speeding up the application process.

Head of business development Graham Sellar says: “This new functionality means brokers will now be able to manage their customers cases more quickly, at the click of a button. In a world where more and more is being done online, we wanted to give brokers the choice to view mortgage offers online.

“The new system will speed up the application process and ultimately time to offer for brokers and their customers.”

Last month, Santander introduced a new policy where it would instruct a valuation as soon as it received the application, as long as the product came with a free valuation. Again, the idea behind the change was to speed up the application process.
