Pat Bunton to leave London and Country

Bunton-Pat-AMI-2013-480

London & Country Mortgages director Pat Bunton has resigned, the firm has confirmed.

Bunton joined L&C in 1993.

An L&C spokesman says Bunton has left to pursue other opportunities.

The spokesman adds: “He has been here for more than 20 years and played a key part in growth over that time.

“Everyone here will wish him well in whatever he does in the future.”

Bunton will also be stepping down from his role as chairman of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries.

Ami chief executive Robert Sinclair says: “The intermediary sector owes him a great debt for the work he has done on MMR, mortgage prisoners, the ongoing competition review, revision to the Compensation Scheme and a regulator that listens to the mortgage advice community.

“In addition he has delivered a financially robust independent trade body which is respected at the highest levels within the regulatory community. His input will be missed by the team, the board, the FCA, Bank of England and Treasury. These will be big shoes to fill.”

I may not completely agree with the L&C model, but I think that Pat has done a terrific job and wish him well for the future. He can’t be accused of being flighty and he worked very hard in respect of the MMR response on behalf of brokers.
