Newcastle adds new non-executive director to board

Newcastle Building Society has appointed Mick Thompson (pictured) as its new non-executive director to its board.

Thompson, who previously held the position of senior partner at Newcastle for nine years, led a programme of growth and expansion in the marketplace, says the building society.

Previous to this, he worked at KPMG for over two decades.

He will also join Newcastle’s audit committee and sit on the board  as a non-executive director as part of his new appointment.

Thompson comments: “I’m a passionate advocate of the North East and see a strong alignment of values with Newcastle Building Society’s commitment to support and develop the potential of our region.”

Newcastle Building Society chairman Phil Moorhouse says: “Mick brings significant senior level experience and technical expertise to our Board as a non-executive director. His passion for our region matches our own and we are pleased to welcome him to the society.”
