Y3S golf day: join the club

Mole hears that the popularity of the annual Y3S golf day has grown to the point where broker attendees are beginning to prefer it to excursions with their own families.

This year’s event takes place on 7 July at the Celtic Manor resort in south Wales, which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2010.

Y3S joint chief executive Matt Cottle tells Mole: “We now get calls asking when the event is taking place so that brokers can organise their family holidays around it.”

High five

Congratulations to brokerage London Money, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this week.

Mole caught up with founder Martin Stewart to ask how the firm was planning to celebrate.

“I was going to take all the staff away for a nice weekend,” said Stewart, “but then I realised it was better to keep them chained to their desks, with me cracking the whip.”

In that case, Mole wishes all the employees of London Money a very productive and profitable anniversary.

Just the ticket

Congratulations also go to Just Mortgages’ latest top financial services divisional director, Darren Mead.

The financial arm of SpicerHaart rewards its best-performing staff with a big bash once a year. Mead tells Mole that this year the firm packed him off to Bangkok for its annual awards event and conference, which involved boat trips, tuk-tuk rides and “plenty of partying”.

Next year’s bash, apparently, will feature trips to the US and Austria. Best of luck, all.
