Mortgage Mole: He’s a good sport

Intrepid Mole, digging up the stories behind the news

He’s a good sport

Mole wants to offer big congratulations to London & Country director Pat Bunton, who has been shortlisted for an award for outstanding services to sport in Bath. Association of Mortgage Intermediaries chairman Bunton has played for Oldfield RFC for the past 34 seasons, been treasurer for 21 and is now also chairman of the rugby club.

Bunton says: “I am humbled and proud. These awards really underscore the importance of grass-roots sport in our local communities.”

Run by the Bath Evening Chronicle, the awards dinner will be taking place on 11 November. Mole wishes you all the best, Pat.

Horsing around

The good news does not end there.

Precise Mortgages sales director Roger Morris has a newly famous star in the family: his dog. Morris was asked if his pooch was willing to appear in a film period drama.

The picture itself sounds a bit offbeat as it features a riding stable with six men inside – who are running around like lunatics – as well as a half-naked lady.

“What happens after that, God only knows,” Morris joked.

Mole will be setting Sky+ for that one.
