Legal & General Mortgage Club appoints Roberts as director

Legal & General has appointed Kevin Roberts as director of the Legal & General Mortgage Club following the news that Jeremy Duncombe will leave the role.

Roberts (pictured) will be responsible for overall strategy of Legal & General Mortgage Club, working with the existing team, lender partners and key intermediary firms.

Earlier this year, current Mortgage Club director Duncombe announced that he would be leaving the role to take up the role of director of intermediary distribution at Accord.

Taking up the mantle at the Club, Roberts joins from Legal & General’s general insurance division, where he was broker & affinity director for the past two years.

Roberts has 28 years’ experience in insurance, five of which have been at Legal & General. He has also held a variety of roles across both commercial and personal lines, and more latterly in Life Assurance.

He will take up the new role on March 2018.

L&G UK protection MD Steve Griffiths says: Kevin will be a valuable addition to the team, bringing with him extensive experience of working with business partners within the insurance sector, which will no doubt widen the expertise of the Club. Kevin joins an experienced team that holds great relationships with lenders and brokers alike, and we look forward to working closely with him to evolve and expand our proposition.”
