Formally established in 1875, Leeds Building Society is the 5th largest building society in the UK with assets of £12.1bn as at 31 December 2014.
Services it provides include mortgages, financial advice, home insurance, home cover, motor insurance, home emergency cover and credit card and travel services.
Leeds posted a net profit of £69.4m for 2014, an increase of 41% on 2013. Net residential lending also increased to £1.1bn (1.0bn in 2013) while savings balances grew by £560m (£884m 2013) to £9.2bn. Owned by its members, its total membership stood at 721,000.
Leeds is currently focusing its efforts on expanding its range of online services to members. As well as the functionality to view account balances and transfer funds, it offers the ability to check the amount of money members can invest in different types of product for the current tax year.
