Leeds BS offers £1,000 cashback on new fixed deals

mortgage, calculatorLeeds Building Society has added a selection of fee-free cashback mortgage deals to its fixed-rate range.

Borrowers will receive either £500 or £1000 cashback depending on the product selected.

Leeds Building Society is offering £500 cashback on a selected range of two-year fixed rate deals. This includes 1.88 per cent rate (up to 60 per cent LTV) and a 1.94 per cent rate for up to 75 per cent LTV.

Cashback rates of up to £1000 are available on its new five-year fixes. This includes a 2.19 per cent rate (up to 60 per cent LTV), and a 2.24 per cent rate, up to 75 per cent LTV.

All these mortgage products include a free standard valuation and no product fee. They are available for both purchase and remortgage.

Leeds Building Society’s director of product and distribution Jaedon Green says: “Mark Carney’s hints last week that the Base Rate is likely to increase sooner and more quickly that previously forecast may prompt homeowners to review their existing mortgage.”

He added that the fee-free aspects is likely to appeal to those remortgaging, while the cashback can help cushion the impact of unexpected costs experienced by most home movers.

Green confirmed that the majority of Leeds Building Society borrowers opt for fixed rate deals.
