Saffron promotes Colin Field to chief executive

Saffron Building Society has promoted Colin Field to the position of chief executive designate.

Field, a qualified chartered accountant and currently the society’s chief financial officer, is expected to be fully in the post on 1 September.

In the meantime he will act as deputy chief executive and the current interim chief executive, Mike Kirsch, has agreed to stay on to manage the transition. One of Field’s first roles will be to hire a new CFO.

The previous chief executive, Jon Hall, resigned from the position in November after three years in the role.

Saffron chairman Geoffrey Dunn says: “Following a very extensive external search, the board unanimously determined that Colin Field was the outstanding candidate to be our new chief executive.”
