MBE seminars given CII accreditation

The Mortgage Business Expo has confirmed its seminar programme has been accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute, meaning attendance will count towards delegates’ compulsory training.

The event, which takes place on 8 October at London’s Barbican Centre, will feature a seminar programme chaired by Society of Mortgage Professionals head of operations Gary Little and former Barclays head of intermediaries David Finlay.

Topics covered will include buy-to-let opportunities, peer-to-peer lending, increasing business volumes, mortgage sales and distribution, regulation and the commercial mortgage market.

Following the CII accreditation, delegates at each seminar can count their attendance towards the 35 hours of compulsory continued professional development they must complete in a year.

MBE director Mike Mikunda says: “We have some fantastic speakers on board this year as well as a Dynamic Lenders panel session discussing the rise of alternative lenders in the UK mortgage market.

“The CII accreditation serves to highlight the quality of an event, so we are delighted to have achieved this again.”

Life cover for life

When someone mentions whole of life plans, most people will think of a niche product that serves as an inheritance tax planning tool for high-net-worth clients.
