FCA to give keynote speech at FSE Manchester

The FCA is set to give the keynote speech at Financial Services Expo Manchester.

Keith Hale, the FCA’s technical mortgage specialist, will provide the regulator’s view on how MCOB rules have been amended to implement the European Mortgage Credit Directive. He will also provide an update on issues the regulator is working on.

Other seminars include an in-depth analysis of the housing market by Association of Mortgage Intermediaries chief executive Robert Sinclair, a look at the protection market by expert Roger Edwards and a session on equity release by the Equity Release Council’s Lee Pick.

There will also be a panel session discussing the MMR one the on, the Mortgage Credit Directive, procuration fees and how technology may develop in 2015.

Front Events director James Prosser says: “Once again we are particularly pleased to have a key-note address delivered by the FCA and, just over a year after the MMR was introduced, it will be interesting to see the Review landed, plus how the next set of regulatory changes is shaping up with the MCD being the catalyst.

“As well as the FCA we have a number of industry experts providing their analysis of the mortgage and housing markets, the outlook for intermediary distribution, as well as focusing on product opportunities especially within the protection and equity release spaces. On top of our main seminar theatre we have the specialist lending seminars offered by Shawbrook Bank as well as our wide range of exhibitors active across many different areas.”

The event will be held at The Emirates, Old Trafford, in Manchester on 20 May.
