TMW offers free gas check to new B2L customers

The Mortgage Works is offering new buy-to-let borrowers a free gas safety check upon the completion of their mortgage.

The inspections will check the property’s gas boiler and its pipe-work plus an additional two gas appliances.

The offer has no end date, so it is ongoing until TMW says otherwise. The checks will be carried out by British Gas.

Landlords are legally required to have their gas appliances checked annually and be able to evidence it through a landlords gas safety record, which will be emailed or posted to the landlord after the visit.

TMW managing director Henry Jordan says: “Landlords are required to carry out gas safety checks to ensure a safe living environment to their tenants. By partnering with British Gas we are helping TMW buy-to-let borrowers meet these important responsibilities simply and cost effectively.”
