FirstAssist launches broker legal service

FirstAssist Legal Protection is launching a scheme to help the SME clients of mortgage brokers gain cheaper legal services for the running of their business.

BusinessCare is launching into the mortgage market in conjunction with Finance Avenue who are part of the Derbyshire based Life & Easy network.

Brokers can offer their clients the legal protection service for the day to day handling of their businessess from employment, health and safety, debt and credit control and the complex area of employee health management.

It will provide Finance Avenue’s SME clients with access to high quality and practical legal advice, information and document creation resources online and over the phone, 24/7, at the fraction of the cost of hiring a solicitor.

Clients would subscribe to an online service for their clients that gives them legal templates to use rather than a solicitor directly.

The product is currently retailing at £399 annually or £39.99 monthly and there are talks ongoing with other networks to roll out the service on a wider scale.

Nigel Robbins, head of sales at FirstAssist, says: “As the mortgage market slows and lending continues to fall, BusinessCare enables commercial mortgage brokers to offer customers a new and relevant product, and in so doing build sustainable partnerships that will ultimately maximise their revenue.”

Corin Holness, director of ABCover, says: “The innovative legal facilities offered by BusinessCare are entirely relevant for our clients’ needs and in an uncertain market gives them peace of mind should they experience an employee dispute or an incident such as debt recovery.  We see BusinessCare as an opportunity to add to our portfolio of products, boost client retention and generate new revenues.”

Estate agents behave like they are doing brokers a big favour

I was interested to read last week that 31% of estate agents are either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with their agency’s mortgage brokers. And 54% of the 300 estate agency firms surveyed say the service they receive from inhouse or outsourced brokers was average. I can only assume this was a joke. I have worked with […]

Brokers can assist agents with clients’ financial situation

As an intermediary I find estate agents seem to think a broker’s job is to sell and that they don’t want to be involved with the fiscal issues. Most don’t realise the benefit of using an independent broker to introduce to their applicants and vendors. The property sale goes hand in hand with the finance […]
