Teachers Building Society allows fees to be added to mortgage

Teachers Building Society is now offering mortgage customers the option to add arrangement fees to the loan.

The building society says the move ins in response to broker feedback and it comes alongside a decision to introduce a £99 booking fee on all applications.

Alan Gravett, head of sales and marketing at Teacher, says it is one of several measures being introduced in response to such feedback.

He says: “We’re also developing an online application submission for brokers and are to review the supporting documentation that we request.”

Teachers started using brokers last year and Gravett says it is already a significant part of its business.
