Philip Jenks appointed as non-exec of Leeds

Leeds Building Society has appointed Philip Jenks as a non-executive director.

Jenks is currently a specialist advisor to the Housing Finance Select Committee.

During his career he has held senior positions at Halifax Mortgages and was head of mortgage strategy and development at HBOS, where he became chief operating officer, mortgages.

Jenks says: “I am delighted to be joining the board of this highly successful building society that has an outstanding track record in delivering good value products to its members, backed up by excellent service.

“Leeds Building Society increased new mortgage lending by 25%, to £1.23bn, last year and I look forward to using my experience to enhance the Society’s already strong mortgage proposition.”

The board currently consists of three executive directors and six non-executive directors, under the leadership of chairman, Robin Smith.
