Intercounty’s managing director will be sleeping rough tomorrow night (June 11) alongside other members of staff to raise money for the homeless charity Shelter.
Greg Young, managing director at Intercounty, will be sleeping on the steps of the firm’s office in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, while other members of staff will be doing the same in Sawbridgeworth and Great Dunmow.
All money raised by the event will go to Shelter, for which Intercounty is aiming to raise £20,000 this year through a number of initiatives.
Young says his motivation for the campaign partly comes from the realisation that he might not be alive if he was homeless, as the average life expectancy for a homeless person is 42 years.
He will be tweeting during the event on an hourly basis from his account @intercountyuk.
