Brightstar appoints business development executive

Specialist distributor Brightstar Financial has appointed a new business development executive at its Brentwood offices.

Terry Young has joined from Compliance Checking where he was business development director.

Young has held a number of roles in specialist distribution over the past 10 years, including group commercial development director at Network Data, director of partners at Enterprise and head of mortgage and protection at Paymentshield’s Directly Authorised mortgage club.

Rob Jupp, managing director of Brightstar Financial, says: “We have been looking for the right person for a while to join our team and we are confident that Terry has the right credentials to fit in perfectly.

“As a broker centric business it’s crucial that we attract staff who understand the needs of intermediaries fully and Terry’s experience of working with brokers for over a decade should enhance our already strong proposition.”

Young adds: “I am delighted to join the guys at Brightstar at this exciting stage in their company development. I am aware of some of their plans for the future and I look forward to a long and successful career here.”

Young joins Brightstar six months after the company was set up by former Savills’ director Jupp.

The specialist distributor plans to be the UK’s largest by the end of 2011 and has Tiuta, Mortgage Advice Bureau and Coreco as its corporate shareholders.
