Deloitte appoints Michael Coogan as strategic adviser

Deloitte has appointed former Council of Mortgage Lenders director general Michael Coogan as strategic adviser to its financial services practice.

Coogan will join Deloitte on January 9 and will work closely with the Retail Banking and Building Society Advisory group focusing on the firm’s insight into the retail banking and the mortgage market.

Coogan held the role of CML director general for 15 years until he stepped down in August last year.

Deloitte head of regional financial services practice Stephen Williams says: “He is recognised as one of the leading experts in his field and his appointment further strengthens an impressive team that is well placed to help clients meet and overcome the challenges ahead.”

Coogan says: “I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience from the CML to support the advisory group and a range of Deloitte clients.”
