Santander to offer Help to Buy 2 products through brokers

Santander has confirmed that intermediaries will have access to its entire Help to Buy 2 product range, which will launch in early January.

The bank released its Help to Buy phase one products through the intermediary channel only and this is the first confirmation of how it will distribute its Help to Buy 2 products.

Details of the new products will not be published until January but the lender will offer loans to 95 per cent LTV.

Chadney Bulgin mortgage partner Jonathan Clark says: “This is two bits of good news essentially. Firstly, the fact that another major player is set to enter the Help to Buy market is great because we’ve said all along that more competition makes things more efficient.

“Secondly, we expected to see this but it is really good news that the new products will be offered through the broker channel as well as direct. We’ve still got NatWest who are only going through the direct channel and not giving brokers access – so to the broker community this is great news.”
