GMAC-RFC moves mortgage book servicing in-house

GMAC-RFC will transfer the administartion of its mortgage assets from its third party servicer, HML, to in-house from April next year.

The move follows the takeover of GMAC-RFC’s European arm by Fortress Investment Group in April this year.

It is not believed to be the end of the partnership between the firms as they look for ways to work together in the future.

Julian Wells, director of marketing at HML, says: “As expected when Fortress bought the GMAC assets, they will transfer on April 13 next year. We are also talking to them about using HML systems for their mortgage administration.”

Fortress is currently unavailable for comment.
