MS TV: Why we need to define advice

Platform is calling on brokers to back its campaign to define what advice really means so that the public can understand the benefits of using brokers.

The Define Advice campaign was launched by Platform last month, with the backing of Mortgage Strategy and the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries. The campaign has already earned the support of industry insiders such as Jonathan Cornell, head of communications at First Action Finance, and Dev Malle, sales director at Personal Touch Financial Services.

Here Lee Gladwell, sales and proposition director at Platform, talks to Mortgage Strategy about the reasons behind the campaign, what it involves, and why brokers should contribute to the debate on drawing up a standard definition of what it means to give advice.
