Simon White unveils new surveyor firm

Industry stalwart Simon White has launched a firm called London’s Chartered Surveyors and Valuers.

The former director of now defunct firm Ashdown Lyons Mayfair has set up the new practice at 100 Pall Mall with Ray Clune, the former senior surveyor at Ashdown Lyons Mayfair.

Ashdown Lyons went into administration at the end of February with all 60 staff made redundant.

But White says the Mayfair branch of Ashdown Lyons was always successful because its main client base was London’s niche-banks.

He says: “The intention with the new firm is to continue servicing London’s central niche banks who are still active in the market, where as the high street lenders are not.”

White and Clune have been joined at the new firm by the two administrative support staff they had at Ashdown Lyons Mayfair, Jane Sturt and Janie Cattell. They’ve also been able to secure professional indemnity cover of £10m.

White adds: “We hope London’s Chartered Surveyors and Valuers will be a successful venture and look to our past business partners for support.”
