First-ever broker census will gauge state of industry

Mortgage Strategy, in association with Woolwich, has launched its first broker census.

With the market having gone through a structural shift since the middle of 2007 the aim is to gauge the state of the industry.

Questions include how much income you derive from cases, which lenders you use, which offers the best service and whether you offer general insurance, protection and even wills.

Everyone who fills in the questionnaire by 12.30pm on Friday August 13 will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to see Newcastle play Aston Villa on August 22, courtesy of Woolwich.

Robert Thickett, editor of Mortgage Strategy, says: “The market has been in turmoil for the past three years and intermediaries have been under unprecedented pressure. We believe this is the right time to launch our broker census so to get a clear picture of the industry.

“Our objective is to do this every quarter to find out what sort of business brokers are doing and how they are adapting.”

He adds: “With Woolwich kindly providing two tickets for one of the first games in the Premier League this season somebody’s luck is going to be in on Friday the 13th.”
