The Mortgage Mole

’arry was robbed It’s been a bad week for Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp, starting when he missed out on the England manager’s job that went to West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson.

But at a pub quiz hosted by Santander last week the quizmaster tried rubbing salt in the wound.

To the question – Who was the last English manager to win the FA Cup? – the Santander compere answered it was former Everton supremo Joe Royle in 1995, erasing Redknapp’s 2008 victory with Portsmouth from history. After an outcry from the audience the answer was quickly changed.

Mole thinks it’s bad enough missing out on your dream job without everyone forgetting your greatest achievement. Poor old ’Arry.

Super Trooper Good luck to Colin Blears, product development manager at valuation software provider Quest, who is taking part in three challenges to raise money for Help for Heroes on May 30.

With both his sister and brother-in-law on tour in Afghanistan since March, Blears decided to take on some personal challenges to support the British troops and its related charity.

He is doing a skydive on May 30 and hiking up Ben Nevis on June 4 to light a beacon at the summit as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. Then on October 13 he is doing his first bungee jump at Chepstow Quarry, where challengers take a 400 foot leap of faith.

“The main event is a trek up to the summit of Ben Nevis, which is pretty different from my daily routine which typically includes trips to Starbucks and sitting in front of a computer,” Blears told Mole.
