Skipton appoints head of PR

Skipton has appointed Jason Clarke as head of public relations.

He will be heading Skipton’s events and sponsorship department, in addition to running the press office.

Clarke previously worked at Halifax as the senior media relations manager, with responsibility for savings, banking, e-commerce and customer relations.

He began his career at Halifax in November 1993 as a cashier and gained experience in a number of roles, from customer relations manager and litigation manager, to project manager.

In May 2001 he joined the Halifax press office.

Clarke says: “I am delighted to be joining such a successful and diverse organisation during a period of exciting change for the business and the industry. I look forward to making a contribution to the continued success of Skipton.”


Agents lose faith in housing market

Estate agents’ confidence in the housing market plummeted last month, according to’s confidence index. This reveals a 22% fall in confidence among agents in March compared with February. Shawn Luetchens, managing director of the property portal, says the result is due to a seasonal slowdown plus negative media coverage.
