HBOS’s Nigel Stockon was triumphant at this weekend’s New York City Marathon, clocking home an impressive three hours and 56 minutes to take the Dity Dozen crown.
The managing director of HBOS Intermediaries was running in the annual event as part of a crack squad of 12 marathoners assembled by Kevin Duffy, managing director of Hamptons Mortgages.
Of Duffy’s Dirty Dozen, Stockton was first past the finishing line with Mortgage Strategy’s former-deputy features editor Barney McCarthy following minutes later with a respectable time of three hours and 58 minutes.
David Bitner, head of mortgage partnerships at Bradford & Bingley (and who can be seen hard at work training for the marathon over a fag and a pint in this week’s Mortgage Strategy), was next to finish at four hours and five minutes.
A whopping quarter of a million pounds has been raised by the runners. For the full New York Marathon story, check out Mortgage Strategy in two weeks time.
