Connells to participate in government HIP trial

The Connells Group of estate agents is taking part in the government’s Home Information Pack trials, which started on November 6.

The group has a near 500 strong network of branches and says it is the largest participant to date taking part in the trials.

Its branches will be working with buyers and sellers to test the effectiveness of the new packs as well as providing feedback to the government.

Elsewhere, the group has been making preparations for HIPs and recently appointed Roger Wilson, who had been involved with Rightmove until its recent withdrawal from the HIP market.

Wilson is heading up the group’s activities on HIPs and his experience and knowledge will be vital as it develops its proposition in time for their mandatory introduction in June next year.

Wilson says: “The information we gather from the trials will be important in ensuring we deliver an effective HIP solution.

“As estate agents we’ll be challenged with delivering HIPs and responsible for making sure we don’t let our customers down.

“It’s the biggest change the industry has seen and the more information and knowledge we gather now, the more prepared we’ll be.

“Whatever side of the HIPs fence you sit on, it would be irresponsible not to prepare for their introduction as ultimately we are here to deliver the best service to customers.”
