SPML announces £1bn completions for 2002

Southern Pacific Mortgage Limited has announced record completions in 2002, achieving a total of over £1bn in mortgage lending, doubling the lender&#39s total for 2001.

John Prust, SPML&#39s sales and marketing director, says: “This is a magnificent achievement for the company and reflects the hard work and dedication of all the staff, together with the strong business partnerships SPML has built with its packager panel.

“Many other lenders have suffered significant service problems during 2002&#39s upsurge in mortgage demand. However, SPML entered the year with not only an excellent service infrastructure, but also a strong commitment from staff to provide the best service in the industry.

“This has enabled us to benefit from unprecedented consumer demand without any loss of service standards or reputation.”

SPML says 2002 sales were boosted by new product offerings including a flexible mortgage and second charge loans.

SPML now employs over 200 staff and has opened a third office to accommodate current and future growth.
