Halifax system gets full marks for its super-fast decisions

I recently arranged a remortgage for a client and it was decided that a fixed rate with Halifax would be the best way forward.

I had not used Halifax’s new online system till then. I thought the old one was cumbersome but we always got there in the end.

After inputting the information my client got an immediate accept. Bearing in mind that he has an excellent credit rating and the LTV was only 48% I wasn’t surprised. I then proceeded to turn this decision in principle into a full application which was submitted to Halifax at 2.26pm.

Almost immediately I received an email saying a valuation had been agreed. And at 2.54pm – just 28 minutes after the application was submitted – I received confirmation that the offer had been produced and a copy sent to the solicitor and client. I also got an online copy.

I have been in this business for 22 years, but have never known such speed. Well done Halifax and our BDM Tracey Johnson, who was on hand to give advice.
