Trigold set to merge with Crystal

Trigold and Crystal Software Solutions are to merge into a combined business called Trigold Crystal.

The two businesses claim that the merger, subject to shareholder approval, will create the largest provider of technology-based solutions to the UK broker market.

Trigold’s Prospector sourcing system lays claim to a market share of over 70% while the Momentum point of sales and client relationship management platform will further add to the proposition.

Combining the two companies will result in a user base of around 25,000.

Trigold Crystal will aim to create the first end-to-end technology platform to bring together broker and providers from point-of-sale, case management, sourcing and reporting.

The company has investment plans spanning the mortgage industry, including brokers, networks, clubs, packagers, and lenders.

It also plans to explore online systems specifically aimed at consumers.

All existing current agreements and products, including Prospector, Momentum, and Dashboard, will remain.

Martin Colyer and Jon Whitmore will become joint chief executives of the business, Patrick Shuker will become chief technology officer and David Aylmer will join the main Trigold Crystal board.

Peter Birch will continue as non-executive chairman.

Martin Colyer, managing director of Trigold, says: “This is an incredibly exciting new chapter in the growth of the business, now 10 years old.

“I am looking forward to working with the Crystal team to expand our services and build a larger, stronger organisation to take on the challenges of the next 10 years and beyond.”

He adds: “This merger is a superb fit and will enable us to work as a single team to deliver the next generation of software solutions to the market.”

Jon Whitmore, managing director of Crystal Software Solutions, says: “We are looking forward to continuing the rapid growth and success we have experienced over the last six years, with our Momentum product being used successfully within a number of high profile organisations.

“The combination of our CRM experience and the Trigold sourcing experience will be key and we are thrilled to be creating an exciting new product and bringing these sourcing and point-of-sale systems together.”
