Smee to be keynote speaker at Practiv event

IT consultancy Practiv has bagged Paul Smee, director-general of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers, as keynote speaker at its forum on May 12.

Titled &#39The Future of Financial Services, the event is being held at the Science Museum in London and is aimed at senior executives of Iinsurers, distributors and network.

Smee will be the keynote speaker at this event, presenting his view on the IFAs&#39 view of the market. As the IFA represents a significant route to market for most insurers, this perspective will be important when insurers consider which strategies to adopt during this period of change.

Other speakers on the day are Clive Mendes, business transformation director of Practiv, and professor Ali Nasralla, fellow in financial services at Manchester Business School and key adviser to Generali.

Mendes, formerly a group strategy director for one of the UK&#39s largest insurers, will consider a completely alternative paradigm for insurance processing and asks what effect such an approach will have on the industry.

Nasralla will discuss the overall pressures for change in the insurance market and its impact on the design of the internal performance evaluation and reward systems. He will also look at how these systems should be designed to best motivate insurance personnel to overcome current difficult market conditions and give insurers a competitive advantage.

This forum will be an opportunity for the industry&#39s opinion leaders and senior executives to hear presentations and discuss the key issues facing the life, pensions and investment market.
