Friend joins Money Partners as head of strategic partnerships

Specialist lender Money Partners has announced the appointment of Kevin Friend as head of strategic partnerships.

In this newly created position, Friend reports directly to Adam Henry, sales and marketing director, and is tasked with identifying, developing and growing untapped intermediary channels that complement Money Partners existing core broker relationships.

Friend takes up his new position with immediate effect. Friend has a huge amount of experience having been involved in the industry at a senior level for the last 12 years. His extensive CV highlights include being involved in setting up The Home Loan Partnership, which later developed into The Mortgage Operation where he held the position of business development director. In 1997, he was responsible for setting up The Scottish Mortgage Operation in Edinburgh.

Friend was appointed a non-executive director of Rubicon Software, which was responsible for creating web based software solutions for the mortgage sector. This software is now used by current lending institutions. In 1999, he was appointed sales and marketing director of eMfinance.com which was the UKs first online mortgage brokerage.

Most recently, he held the position of director of sales at Opus, the Scottish based loans and mortgage packager.

Friend says: Im naturally delighted to be joining a young and vigorous business at an important time in its expansion. I have a clear set of objectives to ensure Money Partners capitalises on the many opportunities offered by growing new intermediary relationships in this very exciting part of the mortgage market.

Much of my experience derives from my past work with intermediary businesses. This has given me tremendous insight into how intermediaries think and function, and I intend putting that knowledge to good use to ensure Money Partners growing reputation extends further into this vital sector. In doing so, Im looking forward to re-establishing some old friendships while making many new ones.

Henry adds: Our first year of trading has produced some highly satisfactory results. This can be attributed to two factors. Firstly, the hard work and commitment of the entire Money Partners team and, secondly, the support and loyalty of a select group of professional mortgage intermediaries.

Our existing broker partnerships are fundamental in all we do. We will continue to cherish and invest heavily in them because, quite simply, they are the foundations on which our success has been built.

Friends job is to identify new intermediary channels that complement the existing ones. These will be developed in a structured and controlled way to ensure our service performance is in no way compromised. Kevin comes to us superbly equipped to achieve this challenging but highly deliverable goal. He is a welcome addition to an already strong team, and I and my colleagues are looking forward to working with him.
