Friend confirms he is joining Money Partners

Money Partners has confirmed rumours that Kevin Friend, former director of sales at Scottish packager Opus, has joined the Middlesex- based lender as head of strategic partnerships.

Friend left Opus earlier this month, saying at the time that after two years with the Glasgow-based packager he was looking for opportunities closer to his home in England. He cut his teeth in the financial services industry at The Mortgage Operation which he helped set up with Frank Butler and Mortgage PLC’s Trevor Pothecary in 1993. In 1999 he helped set up emfinance.com as the UK’s first online brokerage. Friend joined Opus in 2004.

Bob Sturges, director of communication at Money Partners, confirms the appointment.

He says: “We’re delighted to have an individual of Friend’s calibre joining the Money Partners team.”

Friend says: “I will be joining Money Partners shortly. I will be identifying and developing new and complementary partnership channels. I’m looking forward to it.”
