Buy-to-let lenders Birmingham Midshires, Mortgage Express and Paragon Mortgages, have joined the National Landlords Association as special corporate members.
The NLA says this is a major step forward in achieving a more unified voice for the private rented sector.
The new corporate members will participate in an organisation that represents and lobbies on behalf of the private rented sector at all levels of government. Their customers will have the opportunity to increase their skills and knowledge as private landlords.
The NLA, whose members are already responsible for over 50,000 lettings, will be able to widen the scope of its activities as part of its drive to create a professional body for the private rented sector.
David Salusbury, chairman of the NLA, says: “We are delighted to welcome our new members. This is another step forward in promoting the interests of private residential landlords while safeguarding standards in the sector. The private rented sector will have greater influencenationally if it is united in its approach.
“Birmingham Midshires, Mortgage Express and Paragon Mortgages, together with their borrowers, are a vital part of our sector and will play a major role in achieving that united approach. This move will enable us to speak with increased authority where it matters, at the heart of government.”
Borrowers from the three buy-to-let lenders will be able to join the NLA as individual members if they wish and receive a range of services including a bi-monthly newsletter, the NLA telephone advice line service, special deals on certain services, a selection of information sheets and meetings with expert speakers.
Salusbury adds: “We believe that customers of the new corporate members who join the NLA on their own behalf will benefit from the continually expanding range of services it is able to offer as the only truly national association for landlords.”
