Bank of Ireland CE resigns over internet porn

The Bank of Ireland&#39s chief executive Mike Soden resigned at the weekend over allegations of viewing pornographic material on his office computer.

The 57-year old quit his £1m a-year post after an internal check of the company&#39s internet system found the breach of company regulation to have taken place.

There is speculation that Soden accidentally accessed porn sites while browsing escort sites ahead of a trip to Las Vegas.

Just two weeks ago he was appointed to the board of the UK Post Office.

A spokesman for Bank of Ireland explained that having made high ethical standards a central part of his tenure as CE, he felt he was left with no other choice but to resign.
