Legal & General has improved its intergrated quote and application tool on its online protection system.
The improvments include a new range of underwriting outcomes, easier and quicker quotes and more decisions at point of sale. The changes mean occupation categories will now only be required for certain product choices.
In a move to enable more decisions to be taken at point of sale, the new underwriting outcomes are being increased from the two categories of accepted or refer to underwriting, to seven categories, which include rating and exclusions as well as any changes to premiums.
Another key enhancement is to provide them with as much information as possible about their application as soon as it is available.
It also means fewer applications will be referred, allowing more applications to be placed on risk immediately. Where cases still need to be manually underwritten, online protection will inform the adviser of any medical evidence required and always provide a next steps guide on screen, to help the adviser manage customer expectations more effectively.
Cheryl Clements, director of technology propositions at Legal & General, says: We are constantly looking to drive the market forward by providing a quality system for advisers to use. Since we launched online protection in 2005, we have made a number of enhancements and will continue to do so. We will be announcing further exciting developments later in the year, including an interactive underwriting option that will enable advisers to give their customers real-time information about their application.
