The Exchange and Just Retirement announce strategic partnership

The Exchange, the leading supplier of portal services to IFAs and a key part of the Financial Services Division of Vertex, has entered into a strategic partnership with Just Retirement, the annuity and equity release specialist.

Under the terms of this partnership, The Exchange is offering 10,000 Exweb subscribers 12 months free access to its Equity Release Trading Platform courtesy of Just Retirement. Subscribers taking advantage of this offer, which is open from October 10, could save up to 216 over the 12-month period. Totalled up, the provision of these 10,000 free licences could save the IFA community up to 2m.

The partnership, and the offer of free access to the industrys only Equity Release Trading Platform, will help to ensure that IFAs have access to the best information, support and training within the equity release market.

This in turn will benefit consumers as, through the use of the Equity Release Trading Platform, more and more IFAs will be able to research, quote and source equity release products and confidently offer advice in this complex area of financial planning.

The Equity Release Trading Platform gives product providers access to an ideal distribution channel through which they can cost-effectively market their products to Exwebs 21,000 subscribers.

It helps financial advisers to identify which products meet their individual clients needs based on personal data, property details and financial criteria. The results are displayed in a simple tabular format from where advisers can link to detailed product information and produce comparative product reports. The service covers both Lifetime Mortgages and Home Reversion Schemes, and facilitates the production of Electronic Key Facts Illustrations in line with the FSA MCOB regulations.

Andrew Megson, sales director at Just Retirement, says: “We fully agree with the FSAs concerns, expressed earlier this year, over the way in which equity release products are sold and the need for more education and support for IFAs in this market area.

“Our aim is to ensure that advice is comprehensive, robust and clear so that IFAs are confident that they can select the most appropriate solution for every client. The strategic relationship we have entered into with The Exchange forms just one element of what we believe is the most comprehensive training and support package in the market.”

David Child, managing director at The Exchange, adds: “The Equity Release Trading Platform of Exweb has proved extremely popular because it enables intermediaries to research, quote and source products from all of the major equity release product providers. Just Retirements offer of 10,000 free Equity Release Trading Platform licences to current Exweb subscribers will ensure that more and more intermediaries benefit from the services it provides.”
