Dunfermline staff member to swim with Tinkerbell the shark

Kate Jardine, who runs the back office in Dunfermline&#39s commercial lending department will join Tinkerbell, a 26-stone tiger shark, and friends in the main tank at Deep Sea World to help fundraise for a local charity.

Jardine says: “Sharks and my department are quite similar. In both environments, you have to be aware of what is going on around you, operate as part of a team and make sure that you don&#39t disturb the water.”

Joining her in the water are the society&#39s general manager HR Alan Mitchell and the rector of a local high school, whose pupils are betting on the sharks.

Australian Jardine is an accomplished scuba diver but only in the warm waters of her native country&#39s seas, and she realises that the chilly waters of the Firth of Forth are a different proposition. The dive takes place on Friday November 7 in the afternoon. The sharks are fed on Thursdays.
