Abbey National sponsors training and competency workshops

Abbey National for Intermediaries is sponsoring a series of one-day interactive Training & Competency workshops from October 2002 until October 2003 at venues across the UK.

The workshops are designed to help IFAs meet the FSA requirements post-N2 of having a T&C regime in place, and will be run by Phil Billingham Associates Ltd. The workshops will focus on the key areas involved in running a T&C regime, including running a risk-based scheme, coaching and assessment, and training.

One-day Supervisor Refresher workshops will run until February 2003, with four additional two-day introductory Supervisor Workshops, running from November 19-21 2002 to October 2-3 2003.

Hugo Thorman, marketing director of wealth management and banking at Abbey National for Intermediaries, says: “In the post-N2 environment, it is becoming increasingly important for IFAs to keep abreast of, and successfully meet, regulatory changes. The Training and Competency courses we are sponsoring aim to help IFAs meet these demands and keep them up to date with the key issues involved in running an effective T&C regime.”

Phil Billingham, chairman and founder of the IFA Training & Competency Officers forum, says: “These workshops will be a rare opportunity for those responsible for T&C in an IFA environment to meet and share ideas. They are deliberately designed to be as practical as possible.”
