Taylor’s Tour…..

Henry Taylor’s day job is running a mortgage broking business in Eastbourne on the south coast of England, when not taking part in the Seat Cupra Championship

Sepang in Malaysia hosted round five of the A1 Grand Prix series.

On the first day of qualifying, the series organisers declared all the qualifying sessions ‘wet’. This seemed to favour Switzerland as they took pole position for the first race. The team managed to grab pole by nearly a second from France. This was the first pole position for Switzerland and it looked like we were in for a good race.

Maybe Switzerland would be the team to finally challenge the dominance of the French.

The first race of the day saw a close fight for the lead for 15 nail-biting laps. Eventually, France took the win from Switzerland, but at least this time they had to work for it.

This is the eighth win for France this season and they look like they are going to be untouchable for the remainder of the season. Team France now leads the championship by 28 points.

It looks as though France have the A1 Grand Prix series wrapped up but you never know what can happen in motor sport – everything can change around in one weekend.

The next stop on the A1 Grand Prix calendar is the Grand Prix circuit in Dubai.
