CHL signs up with Focus for online mortgage application facility

Focus Business Solutions, the provider of customer management solutions to the financial services market, signed a new contract with specialist buy-to-let lender,Capital Home Loans Limited at the Mortgage Business Expo for the provision of an online mortgage application solution.

Focus has developed a transactional extranet for CHL to support and manage business operations electronically across its intermediary distribution channel.

The extranet will provide intermediaries with a facility to process an online decision in principle, online key facts illustration and electronic mortgage applications.

In addition, intermediaries will be able to track cases and commission with the system providing management information to CHL on usage.

Mike Lane, IT and administration director of CHL says: “The ability to interact electronically with the intermediary market is core to our business strategy and speed to market is a key requirement in this competitive marketplace.

“Focus technology will provide us with an excellent solution for our intermediary channel and enable us to rapidly deploy a flexible solution that will fulfil both current and future business requirements.”

Manjit Rana, director of mortgage solutions at Focus, adds: “This contract is great news for Focus and we look forward to continuing our business relationship with CHL as it deploys its solution to the intermediary market. Regulation and increased competition in this market have accelerated the demand for e-commerce solutions, such as ours, and we expect this trend to continue as the market becomes more complex.

“Organisations now recognise the potential that can be achieved from electronic trading, in terms of reducing costs in the sales process and improving customer service.”

The CHL online mortgage application solution is expected to go live in early 2006.
