The Nottingham does not do a good job of marketing itself through its website. The main site is full of annoying colours that don’t quite work – and someone thought it was a good idea to do the same on the intermediary website (which is difficult to find as there are no links from the main website). Surely a golden rule of website marketing is to make things easy to find. There’s not a lot of content and the whole website smacks of laziness. It’s not even a particularly good brochure website as there is little in the way of self-promotion and the colours used will give you a headache if you look at them for too long. As one of the larger mutuals I would have thought that it could have done a better job than this.Paragon Mortgages
Paragon does a good job of marketing itself through its website, providing a comprehensive collection of tools. The deeper you go into this website, the more impressive it is and I can see why Paragon is a broker favourite for professional landlords. I particularly like the index for investment property which is an invaluable tool for landlords, and there seems to be a calculator for just about every occasion and set of circumstances. The website is clear and simple to navigate. The appearance could do with some work but this website is functional and easy to use, providing a huge amount of content and functionality.

Robin Hood would turn in his grave knowing that The Nottingham is using his image on its website. The familiar format underwhelms and the website takes all of five minutes to navigate. It has a broker website, which you eventually find and the online Key Facts Illustration is useful but that’s where the usefulness ends. By contrast, Paragon Mortgages is a no-nonsense website. This specialist investment property lender gives brokers everything they need to provide a good service to professional landlords, offering facilities such a property index calculating tool and even a business to business service designed to support landlords. Well done, Paragon.
