Elmhurst and Quest collaborate on Home Energy Reports

The Quest valuation system provides an immediate interface to the Elmhurst Streamline system allowing surveyors to input the energy details of a particularly property and instantly receive a Home Energy Report, which includes cost effective recommendations for improving

the energy efficiency of the property, such as loft insulation, cavity wall insulation or heating system improvements.

Stephen O&#39Hara, managing director of Elmhurst Energy Systems, says: &#34We continue to have a good working relationship with Quest and as energy ratings become more and more mainstream, our relationship is set to develop further. Once the &#39EU energy performance of

buildings&#39 directive is implemented fully and the Home Information Pack initiative is launched, there will be a huge demand for such reports.&#34

&#34In addition, we have been contracted by DEFRA to develop a energy reporting method which once completed, will be the standardised method for producing energy ratings for the Home Information Pack.&#34

Tom Parker, managing director of Quest Associates, says: &#34One of the largest groups that currently provide home energy ratings are the mortgage lenders via our Quest system. Now, by working with Elmhurst, we are able to provide the reports to the surveyor community, ensuring they have access to vital energy data of the properties they visit.&#34

Ask intermediaries about the standard of service they get from the packagers they use and the chances are they will not be terribly complimentary. It pains me to say this but there are many packagers working in the mortgage market who would be surprised to be informed that they actually work in a service-driven sector. […]
