A warning about network tactics that lie ahead

As Mortgage Day approaches and the rush to join networks begins, I have a warning about the dodgy tactics likely to be employed by some networks.

I have been a member of an L&G-backed network for the past three months after embarking on a new venture under my own banner for the first time in my career. I became a member of the network by default via a previous employer.

I had written a small amount of new business and was fed up with not being updated or having my calls returned regarding the progress of cases so I issued the company my termination letter but now fear that any commission owed will not be paid.

After a number of telephone calls to the network I am still waiting for a reply on this issue.

A cautionary tale as I am sure this will not be the only example of such behaviour.
