Mortgage Intelligence adds Assurant to GI panel

Mortgage Intelligence has added Assurant Intermediary to its general insurance panel for both appointed representatives and directly authorised members.

Members will have access to Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance, residential buildings and content cover, income protection and landlord property insurance.

Sally Laker, managing director of Mortgage Intelligence, says:”We felt that Assurant’s commitment to providing high levels of broker support alongside their competitive general insurance products fitted well within our existing General Insurance panel.

“In particular their ASU product is especially attractive at a time when many ASU providers are adapting their criteria or withdrawing from the market entirely. We look forward to working with the team at Assurant and offering our members even more General Insurance choice.”

Kevin Paterson, sales and marketing director at Assurant Intermediary, says: “We’re really pleased to be on the GI panel of a company like Mortgage Intelligence. There are many similarities between the companies: both have a strong commitment to intermediaries and secure financial foundations through our parent companies.

“It’s becoming increasingly important for mortgage brokers to offer GI – it’s a good source of additional revenue. In this environment, brokers have to work harder at adding value and being able to access to a broad spectrum of products means they can offer the most appropriate and affordable products for their clients.”
