Brighton 2005: Brown calls for UK to be a home-owning democracy for all

Speaking at the Labour Partys keynote conference speech in Brighton today, chancellor Gordon Brown says the UK must be a home-owning, share-owning democracy for everyone.

He also talked about how young people should be able to have their dream of owning their own property.

Speaking of his economic mission for Britain, Brown says that since 1997 any other country that was faced with a house price bubble would have seen it go from boom to bust.

However, he says this did not happen thanks to the Bank of England cutting interest rates and UK debt.
